On July 4th, 2026, Rex Lynn Dickenson just a few weeks shy of 81 years on this planet, left us to begin the next stage of his journey.  In our hearts he will be met on this new adventure in heaven by his mother Helen Lucille Cox, his father Marvin G. Dickenson and his daughter Chantele Marie Dickenson.

Rex lived in Rocklin, California after stops in Concord and Vacaville.  He died in his home surrounded by his loving wife Vicki and his son Rick.   Despite a year long battle with cancer his final hours were peaceful as he slipped away.

Born on July 31st, 1945 in Union, Iowa, Rex was the youngest of five brothers.  Rex would go on to serve our nation proudly in the US Navy during the Vietnam War.   After returning to civilian life, he worked as a grocery store manager before entering semi-retirement.  Always a hard worker, he eventually found his second family working for Pacific West Pharmacy until his cancer forced him to finally take a long-deserved vacation from work.

Mere words can never capture the sum of a man's life, but these just might capture the essence of Rex's life – 'No matter how hard the world pushed against him, there was always something stronger, better in him that pushed right back'.   He was a gentle soul, understanding, forgiving and patient.

Rex is survived by his wife Vicki, his son Rick, his grandson Josh whom he raised like a second son, and his remaining grandchildren Calvin, Alexandra and Gannon.

Graveside services will be held Thursday, July 16, 2026 at 1:30pm at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery, 5810 Midway Road, Dixon, CA. 95620
