Michael Francis Cartwright

1944 - 2026

Michael Francis Cartwright, born in 1944 and raised on Long Island, New York, passed away in Feb 25, 2026 in Roseville, California.

A New York native, he moved to California in 1969 with his wife Wladyslawa (Wally). He founded and ran a sheet metal company for over 40 years, specializing in beautiful custom copper work that he crafted with great pride while providing for his family.

Michael was a complicated man with a dry sense of humor that, in later years, evolved into a more outgoing and openly funny personality.

He is survived by his wife Wally; three daughters Jennifer, Cynthia (Cindy) and Kathleen (Katelynn); four grandsons; four great-grandsons; sister Monica; and brother Timothy.

He will be missed by many for his forthright dedication, ethics, drive, unique spirit, and the hundreds of practical life-lessons he taught.

Michael's final wishes were for cremation, and his ashes to be spread in a predetermined mountainous location. He specifically did not want any kind of memorial service, gathering, or marker for his remains, only to be in well-deserved, final peace.
