Kyle Eugene Shields

Kyle Eugene Shields of Bishop, California, passed away peacefully on July 26, 2026, at the age of 55. He was born on August 19, 1970, to Calvin Eugene Shields and Virginia Lee Payne (née Abbott) in Bishop. After graduating from Bishop Union High School in 1989, Kyle held various jobs in the area. He had a passion for cars, especially hot rods, enjoyed fishing, and had a deep appreciation for the Paiute tribe's Native American culture. Kyle was well-known for his willingness to lend a hand to anyone in need.

He is survived by his mother, Virginia Payne; his brother, Kevin Shields; his sister, Krysta Shields-Martinez; as well as nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles, and cousins. Following his wishes, Kyle will be cremated. Instead of a traditional funeral, he requested that memories of him be collected and shared for everyone to read.
