Edward Ronald
Lybrand
Nov 9, 1937 — Jun 6, 2026
Rocklin
Edward Ronald Lybrand, Sr
aged 88 years, went Home June 6, 2026.
It was a peaceful final journey for him. He was born November 09, 1937, in Aiken, SC
where he lived on South Boundary. He was called from his daughter Laura's home,
surrounded by unwavering love and care. His parents were Emmanuel Lee and Cora Lee Lybrand.
"Eddie-boy", as he was known in his younger years, grew up with best friend Tony Eustis and his one true love,
Tony's sister Tina. He graduated with Honors from Aiken high school in 1955. Coming from a humble background,
he worked on the Alaskan Pipeline to help put himself through college. He enlisted in the Navy,
where the training and compensation for his service provided an auspicious beginning for him.
At Clemson University, while being a member of 3 different Honor's programs, he earned his Bachelor's
degree in electrical engineering in 1964. He went on to The Polytechnic Institute of Brooklyn, NY.
Here he was also a member of the Honor Society and earned his Master of Science – System Science
degree in 1967. He stayed at Polytech in Brooklyn and became a member of The Institute of
Electrical & Electronics Engineers, Inc. In 1975, he graduated from Polytech with his PhD in Electrical
Engineering –System Science. Ed and Tina were married for 23 years and raised four children, Edward Jr, Anthony,
Jennifer, and Laura. With few breaks in his life, he lived with ambition, courage, and discipline.
He had much to be proud of but was a soft-spoken man. He set goals and accomplished them.
While providing a solid role model and very stable life for his family, Ed cherished his wife and his children.
He taught us that pride in yourself is an accomplishment, not to be taken lightly. He was most pleased
when he saw that his grown children were truly happy. His love of good food and good wine with
good friends taught us that life is truly a gift to enjoy. He was gifted with an ear for music and sang
and danced often, with or without music. Some of our favorite songs with him are Chantilly Lace
by the Big Bopper and You Can't Roller Skate in a Buffalo Herd by Roger Miller. We will always
remember his silly moments! And that man was handsome till the day he died!
Eternally in our souls daddy, we are so grateful for your time with us and are at peace knowing you are
in Heaven singing and dancing with Jesus, Mom, Uncle Tony, and your other beloved friends and family.
You taught us there is a time and place for everything,
father. The time has come for us to say, "until we meet again". We will do this off the northern California coast
so you can spend forever with your most gracious Tina.
Your legacy we will carry. To pass it on – it is a great feat!
