Amy Beth
Bailey
Aug 19, 1970 — Jul 8, 2026
Roseville
Amy Bailey, 55, passed away at her Rocklin home on July 8, 2026, following a chronic degenerative illness. She is survived by her daughter, Kat (Hazel) White; sisters, Laura Bailey Bell and Sandy Bailey; nieces Julia Bell and Emma Stoelk; and nephew Colin Stoelk. She was predeceased by her parents, Vernon "Pete" Bailey and Louise Bailey.
Amy was born and raised in Indianapolis. She received her BS from Indiana University and her Masters in Library Science from IUPUI.
She loved science fiction, board games, jigsaw puzzles, and all kinds of music. A life-long learner, she took a statistics class "for fun," tackled sewing projects, was a Girl Scout leader, and had a love and awe of nature, always enjoying hiking, camping, and traveling. She also treasured her many long-time friends.
Her sisters will always remember her stubborn independence, long newsy emails that came every few days in the years of living across the country, weekly Zoom visits during COVID, her wry sense of humor, the always-perfectly selected birthday and Christmas presents, and the loving care she took of our parents in their later years. She was devoted to family and we are so blessed to have taken trips together with our kids over the years.
In 2023, Amy retired as Head, Cataloging at Indiana University in Bloomington, Ind., and she moved to California to live near family.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Herman B. Wells Library Endowment Fund through the Indiana University Foundation.
